Subway Stories.

Helps More

Bulgarians Read

According to the National Statistical Institute, 51.8% of Bulgarians have not read a single book in 2022.

And this is understandable. An entire book requires dedication and concentration that are difficult to summon. Both because of the way we consume content and because of the need to unwind before/after an exhausting day at the office. Plus it's an uncomfortable object.

And yet literature continues to have its benefits - it improves memory, develops the vocabulary and imagination, entertains, reduces stress, helps you learn more about the world.

And the trick seems to be to adapt it to the way potential readers function.

So here is a passion project.

Subway Stories.

These are contemporary Bulgarian texts to listen to while traveling in the Sofia metro. Each story continues right from the moment the doors close at the station you get on to the moment they open at the station you get off.

And that's it. It requires nothing more than traveling by public transport.
